We are upgrading the Grok models used in chat. Starting May 15, characters configured with Grok will switch from Grok 3 and Grok 4.1 to Grok 4.3.
xAI is retiring the older Grok models on May 15, 2026. They will stop serving those versions, so we are moving to the new model ahead of time.
Who This Affects
This change only impacts Premium and Creative PRO users who use Grok-configured AI characters. Those chats cost 3 chips per message and will continue working after the upgrade.
Free users are not affected, since Grok models are only available on paid plans.
What Stays the Same
The chat experience itself should remain stable. You will keep the same character, the same conversation history, and the same creative behavior you already use.
No action is required from users.
What Might Change
Response style can shift slightly with Grok 4.3. Some replies may feel more direct or concise. Tone and pacing can also vary a little depending on the character and the length of the conversation.
These differences are typical when moving between model versions. The core personality of each Grok character should stay intact.
Why We Are Doing This Now
We wanted to complete the upgrade before xAI turns off the old models. Moving early gives us time to watch performance and fix any issues that appear.
The goal is to avoid sudden disruptions for Creative PRO and Premium users on May 15.
What Happens Next
Grok characters will switch to Grok 4.3 automatically. If you notice anything off in responses after the change, you can report it directly in the app. We are monitoring the rollout closely during the transition.
This is a quiet maintenance update, not a new feature. It keeps Grok chats running smoothly as the underlying models evolve.
