Here's the simplest feature we've ever shipped, and possibly the most pleasant: every like you give in the community earns you 1 free chip. See a generation you love, tap the heart, and your chip balance goes up. That's the whole mechanic.
How it works
- Browse the feed or a character profile.
- Like a post that deserves it.
- +1 chip lands in your balance, instantly.
Your chip history logs every one ("+1 chip = like sent"), so you can watch the tally grow, and your balance updates in real time. You'll find the "1 like = 1 chip" block on your Chips page, where your earnings from likes sit alongside everything else.
A few ground rules keep it honest: the like has to be real, no liking your own posts, no double-dipping on the same post, and fair-use limits apply so the mechanic rewards browsing, not botting.
Why we built it this way
Notice the direction: the chip goes to the person giving the like. That's deliberate. Comments just arrived on the feed and character profiles, and the community is becoming a conversation, but conversations need people who show up and react, not just people who post. This feature pays the audience.
It also means chips, the currency behind your generations and unlocks, now have a faucet that costs nothing but attention. Scroll the feed, hype the creators whose work stops your thumb, and fund your next generation while you're at it.
